Features:
N butyl alcohol is Colorless liquid, alcoholic, relative density(d2020) 0.8109, boiling point 117.7 °C, melting point -90.2 °C, refractive index(n20D) 1.3993, flash point 35-35 .5 °C, self-ignition point 365 °C. The solubility in water at 20 °C is 7.7 %(weight) and the water solubility in Butyl Alcohol is 20.1 %(weight). It is miscible with ethanol ether and other organic solvents; explosion limit 1.45-11 .25(volume).
Application:
N butyl alcohol is mainly used in the manufacture of n-butyl plasticizers of phthalic acid, aliphatic acid and phosphoric acid. It is widely used in various plastics and rubber products, and is also used in organic synthesis to produce butyaldehyde, butyric acid, butylamine and lactate.
